Following the concept of separation of powers (Legislative, Judicial and Executive), each arm is composed of institutions that carry out the functions. In the Executive arm, the components which help carry out the function of administering the laws made by the Legislative arm are:

·   Governor

·   Executive Government

·   Executive Council and

·   Government departments (public service) 

The Executive

Executive government formulates policy and proposes it in Parliament. 

Governor

Once the proposed policies (in the form of Bills) are passed by both houses, Governor gives royal assent making the Bill an enforceable Law. 

Executive Council

Administers the laws and policies and brings the policies and laws into operation.

Public Service

The public service and each government department assist in the enforcement of the laws passed and in the carrying out of the policy developed.
